Basile.Family

Just imagine me with the biggest sad face right now as I write this blog:( {whah whah whah}!!! This is this sweet families first family session since Alexandria came into the world. To check out her birth story click {here}! The Basile Family is one of my favorite families to photograph, they are ALWAYS so much fun!! I always know we are going to have a blast at their session, even more so when Sean has an idea we can spin off of. Sean and Ashley have 4 sweet children and I will truely miss them when they move back to Texas!! This will be my last session of them here in California, but I already have some plans in the works to travel down to the state of TEXAS to photograph them if I have to...and see what the big ol' fuss is about this HUGE state;)

Luckas.Turns 3!!!

I think this session was a little harder on me this year since Luckas will be going to Pre-School later this year and he isn't a little baby anymore!! It just seems literally like yesterday I was in the hospital with my mother and my friend Sarah waiting for Luckas to come make his way into the world. I finally decided to have Sarah call Justin while he was in Iraq to tell him that Luckas was on his way. So VERY THANKFUL to this day that one of his co-workers had a phone that made this possible!! He called me again before he went to work and I told him that Luckas was here:) My other friend Sarah went home that night and emailed Justin photos of Luckas so he could see him!!

Now 3 years later he is potty trained, wears little Super Hero underwear and boxers! {Gosh, he is going to kill me when he gets older;)} He talks all the time and knows his name. Which by the way...I love how he says our last name "MicaNutt". The way he learns these random things, like making a diamond shape with his hands, looking for "Rocket Ships" in the sky. He likes to help me bake in the kitchen, he is by far the BEST BIG BROTHER on the planet!! He has recently been letting us know that he wants to grow BIG and TALL just like Daddy and then flexes his arms like a body builder:) He has more energy some days then I do, which I don't understand!!haha He makes me cry every time I sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star to him before he goes to bed and he sings right along with me!! He has went to the Dentist already and didn't even cry. And my favorite is when he tells me "I love you too Mommy!!!"

Time has really flashed before my eyes and he is growing up way to fast!! I know every mother out there knows that it is by far the biggest truth in the world. I can't wait to see what else he learns this year and I can't wait to see what kind of man he turns into in the future.For his session this year we did Toy Story. Since that is one of the big things he loves. Him and Woody are the best of buds. He will go around the house saying "Howdy, Howdy, Howdy". He even sleeps with his plush Woody doll when he goes to bed:)

 {This is his "fishy" face!!}

Austin+Carrie.Couple

What a nice way to wrap up their last few months here in 29 Palms before they transition out of the Marine Corps?! I really enjoyed photographing Carrie and Austin this past weekend. They just fit together so well and even though Austin was not wanting his photo taken. Carrie and I kept promising him that it was painless and it was going to go by fast, he was a good sport about it all!! I was so thankful I got this chance to photograph these two since I wasn't able to photograph their homecoming a couple months ago. So I'm VERY happy I got to shoot them since they totally ROCKED their session!!!

Just see for yourself...

Denver Grace. 3 months

This little blog post is a little special to me. I met Jenna when I got the chance to photograph her husbands homecoming last year:) You can check it out {here}!! This homecoming was right before Jenna was due and Jenna was so excited her husband made it in time for the birth. It was so nice to finally meet her and see her cuteness for myself. She was to cute for the camera and when she wasn't happy, I got to hold her and she calmed right down:)

I asked Jenna to tell Miss. Denver Grace's story. Thank you Jenna for sharing her story!!

"Denver Grace was born 4 weeks premature at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs due to a condition that her mommy ended up with called HELLP syndrome, which is a severe form of pre eclampsia. Denver was born October 16 weighing 5 pounds 1 ounce and was 17.7 inches long. During labor and delivery mom was on a drug called magnesium to help prevent seizures as a result of the condition so when Denver was born she wasn't trying very hard to cry or even breathe so the doctors admitted her to the NICU and put her on a ventilator to wait for the drugs to wear off. They didn't seem too worried until she continued having troubles breathing into the following days when they discovered her pnuemothorax which is a hole in her lung. That healed rather quickly and Denver came off the ventilator that following Saturday, October 22nd which is when mommy and daddy were first able to hold her at 6 days old! We then spent two more weeks in the NICU going through many tests and the motions of teaching Denver to breathe and eat on her own without the help of machines. It was a rocky road that hasn't ended with leaving the hospital, since then Denver encountered an issue with her liver not functioning properly and trouble gaining weight which both seem to be improving. She also has a pending diagnosis of Bells Palsy which is rather common in some babies and tends to resolve within 4-5 months. We still have a long road ahead of us to getting our princess 100% caught up and healthy but we wouldn't trade her or our journey with her for anything in the world!!"

Now check just take a peek at her cuteness!!!
