Stratton.Family

I have really enjoyed getting to know this family a little more these past couple of months! This family is seriously so sweet, even more so with Liam and Preston!! I really loved hearing Britani and Jared's story since they are "teenage" sweethearts meeting when they were 15 and 16 years old!! Its all thanks to
Britani's great-grandma for getting Jared and her together. They met when Jared was doing some volunteer work at an elderly care home here in 29 Palms where Britani's great-grandma was living. Her grandma, who went there every day kept telling Britani that she really needed to meet Jared, so she finally agreed to it. You will have to ask her about why ducks mean something to them..its quite a cute story:)

I couldn't believe how much energy Preston had and how Liam was trying to keep up with his bigger brother. These two little boys are just so handsome:) I really had a blast photographing this family. I hope I get the chance to photograph them one more time before I leave 29 Palms this summer!!

Now check them out:)

Arrigo.Family

This family just melts my heart and has since I photographed MaKenna and Chris' engagement session last year. This story is going to make you cry, so grab those tissues!!

MaKenna and Chris adopted Bandit and Bear at the San Bernardino City Animal Shelter which is one of the highest kill shelters in the region. They called the shelter about another dog but was told that the dog was about to be put down. The shelter told them that they had two brothers there and that if they made it to the shelter before 2pm they could see them, if not they would be put down since they were on their 5th day stray hold. MaKenna arrived at 1:30pm and Bandit came right up to her in the cage and Bear was curled up in the back giving her the biggest puppy eyes ever!! She was told that they were both picked up on the I-10 in San Bernardio, they also are estimated to be 10-11 months old. Even though they were not prepared to take two dogs home, MaKenna decided that BOTH of the boys were going home with her. Bandit and Bear both have scars all over them and Bear was shot with a BB Gun since a pellet was found in bedded into his neck.

Chris and MaKenna think they have never been in a home since they were scared at first, they have never been in a car. They are seeing their personalities come out so much since they have rescued them. Also, Bandit and Bear have been diagnosed with Canine Distemper. They are in the respiratory phase, there is also no treatment for this viral disease:( Chris and MaKenna have taken both the boys to Northern LA to a vet who specializes in this disease and have had success with a vaccine. The vet says they have a strong enough immune system and were given the vaccine. MaKenna and Chris are hoping that the boys can beat this and be part of the 25% of canines that survive this viral disease! If not they want Bandit and Bear to experience the good life and to be able to live a happy carefree life like dogs should. They couldn't imagine life without their new "fur babies"...which asks the question...Who rescued Who?!

{Thursday Thoughts}.Personal

I have been super busy with everything going on. So I will make up for missing last weeks Thursday/Thankful Thoughts:) So I hope you all enjoy what I have on the blog this Thursday!! Can't believe next Thursday is Thanksgiving:)!!!!

{Technology}
I'm VERY thankful for technology. We have come so far in such a short period of time and its only the beginning!! I love how I can skype with my mom and family back home and they can see us without having to pay $1000+ for a plane ticket to visit. I love how I can run my business and do what I love to do. Without technology, none of this would be possible. So very thankful for the little things:)

{My Mom}
Like I said before, I'm a family lady:) {I will try not to make this mushy;)} I love my own little family and my family back home in the Mid-West! But I'm very thankful for my Mom, she is just amazing all around. Without her, I wouldn't be here right now and I wouldn't be the mom and woman I'm today without her. And I can't wait to see her here soon!! Hopefully she has my eggnog when I get there;)

{Sleep}
This one is just simple. I'm very thankful for sleep, that we need sleep to reboost ourselves. If you get the right comforter and nice comfy pillows! It is amazing:):) I should go crawl into bed with my toddler to take a little nap!!

{A Roof Over Our Heads}

Welcome to my house, JUST KIDDING!!! This is a beautiful house in Scotland;) I wish it was my home though...I won't lie about that! Its STUNNING!!! But I'm thankful for the roof that is over our heads. Very thankful to have warm water, power and somewhere to raise my family and a place to sleep!

I hope you all enjoyed the little blog post! Have a great Thursday:)

Trisha+Connel.Couple

This blog is a little more special to me then my other blog posts. {Your que to go get some tissues!!}

I was asked earlier this year to do a newborn session for Trisha and Connel of their handsome little boy Brice. Well I never got the chance to meet Brice or photograph him since this precious little boy only lived from Sunday to Sunday {3.20.11-3.27.11}. Brice suffered from an Umbilical Cord Prolapse that caused his oxygen supply to be cut off. He was born via emergency c-section, barely alive. He was then transported to Loma Linda where he went through a series of test to measure his brain function and it was determined he was brain dead so it was up to them to let him "live" like that or take him off life support. His stats were the best they had ever been on the 27th, his heart rate dropped down into the 80s later that day and stayed there for hours so Trisha and Connel had the very hard decision to take him off life support since they felt that it was Brice's way of giving them a sign to let him go. RIP Brice♥

Trisha and Connel are the sweetest people I have ever met. Connel is quit funny and loves to learn about new things and read about new things. Trisha is so sweet and is just stunning:) We were cracking jokes and just laughing the whole time. They love to travel together and just celebrated their first wedding anniversary, so Congrats to them!! I really wish the best for this sweet couple.

Now check them out:):)
